When my mother passed away, my brother and I concluded that his old cat Zeus wouldn't like living in Tennessee with 5 dogs and four other cats, and might not survive the trip. Rose is in the same kind of shape, so he took Lilly.
Today I found out that Lilly hasn't been eating and is in very bad shape, so Bob is having her euthanized.
Lilly was originally a barn cat that made her way inside - she'd hurt her paw, so we took her inside until it was healed - and liked to sit on Bob's lap every night. She'd arrived at an understanding with the other animals in the house, including Rudolfo the American Bulldog. I'm sorry to lose Lilly, but I'm glad her suffering is over.
