Home Improvement

The house in Columbus is slowly coming together, and it doesn't look like a 27 car pileup on I-75 during an ice storm.  My problem is that I have a galley kitchen, which is a polite way of saying that there is room for one, and only one, chef, and it would be best if the chef were slim and flexible instead of being old and fat.

The cupboard above the stove where I would normally store my spices is far too small, so last week I ordered a spice rack that I could mount on the wall.  The rack, or racks, arrived this morning.

Rather than drilling holes in my freshly painted walls, I followed my brother Mike's suggestion and used these Command brand damage free hangers.  These particular hangers are actually Velcro on one side and adhesive on the other, so the shelf can be taken down and put back up again.

I'm pleased with the result, mainly because space that was otherwise wasted is now being utilized, and the cost was fairly minimal.

Danté At Ease
Seeing as how he can't climb on the shelf, Danté is not all that impressed.  He otherwise is adjusting to his new home, and spends time playing on the stairs.

  1. Very clever! I think you did good. It appears your cat has settled in, despite his unimpressed glare. LOL
